Wow! Tonight's performance of Pride and Prejudice was wonderful! I am so very pleased with everyone's efforts, and everyone interpreted their lines flawlessly! I never thought that I would ever see a sympathetic and engaging portrayal of the younger Bennet sisters, or indeed of Mrs Bennet and Lady Catherine, but the actors did a spectacular job with that.
Ernie and Parvati and Sasha, you three did a wonderful job overseeing everything.
It was a rather nice break from studies, for a few hours. I think that all of us are now refreshed and re-energised so that we can move on with our work.
It was also a welcome distraction from that... that terribly awkward Ancient Runes assignment. What in the world are we supposed to do? So... disrespectful!
Could the timing be ANY worse, really?
It boggles the mind how many people have been stricken with this disease. But for once, I
am almost glad. I think I could use a long-overdue break from studies and stress and... goodness, even Professor Babbling's sardonic remarks. have no idea WHAT this is that everyone has.
Zacharias, I'm so so sorry that you had to be inconvenienced so. I was taking such care not to partake in activities that increase risk of contagion and infection, and yet apparently such measures were inadequate in the end.
And had I not been so absorbed in what I was doing, I am sure that I would have noticed the dizziness before it had gotten to such a point.
Parvati and Lavender, will one of you please bring me my satchel from the dorm? I have a horrible suspicion that I am falling terribly behind on my revision, and bedridden or not, such negligence is inexcusable at a time such as this. I must endeavour to utilise this unexpected excess of free time by studying for NEWTs.
Daphne, I'm sorry. I do hope that classes will run smoothly for you, but for what it's worth, I am sure that you will perform admirably at this post, and you have my best wishes for subsequent lessons.
I do hope that those who are ill are resting themselves and not doing anything to either further jeopardise their health, and those who are healthy remain that way. Also, for those who aren't quite at their best, it would behoove you to visit Madam Pomfrey, because better safe than sorry.
That means you, Ginny. ( Private to selfCollapse )
Everyone who is ill, do feel better soon.
I am saddened by the Quidditch loss and the fact that we're no longer in the running for the cup this year like all the other Gryffindors, but that being said, good luck to both Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff... and to those on the Ravenclaw team, you played a good game, and I hope that we gave you one in return.
Must get pass for Restricted Section. Must get pass for Restricted Section... Thus far, none of the other books in the History of Magic section have turned up enough information. Will have to track down the one Hannah Abbott recommended, not to mention a few on wizarding genealogy...
I think that I shall take on that extra credit project that the professor has been alluding to in Ancient Runes. Thus far no one else but Zabini has opted to do it, which I suppose is understandable considering the fact that NEWTs are coming right up. It would be good practice though, and very interesting theoretical work to explore.
And the necessary books will be in the Restricted Section. It is so much harder to sneak in undetected these days without Harry's cloak... Oh, no... the only night that I don't have Prefect rounds or other revision and OTHER research to do this extra credit project in order to have a valid excuse to be in the Restricted Section would be Thursdays. When I typically tutor Euan Abercrombie in Charms. Sod.
Umm, are any of the other Prefects (regardless of house) willing to tutor a younger year in Charms for an hour or so this Thursday evening? Please?
I could use a time-turner. Or some rest. Well... maybe not that. No time for that.
I hope that everyone who is off on holiday is having a good time, and wish both the groups going to Italy and France safe traveling.
Apologies for not updating or being active on the journals of late, but there were too many things to do (DADA project, Pride and Prejudice adaptation, career consultation, etc. to name a few) that took up the vast majority of my time.
It's nice being able to have the library mostly to myself, though.
Finally, finally I will have some peace and quiet to study the various books I owl-ordered from Flourish and Blotts and Scrivenshaft's for the purposes of hopefully acquiring useful information to help Harry in regards to Horcruxes without nosy people asking me what I'm reading about NOW or younger years interrupting me for Arithmancy help!
Speaking of library, I STILL need to do research into Muggle-Wizarding relations and modern law for information on a potential future career. Must... read... faster!
Has anyone seen my Rune dictionary? There's an exceedingly long set of passages that must be translated by Monday
on top of the Defense Against Dark Arts research which I KNOW I'll end up doing all the work for
and it's nowhere to be found. Did someone borrow it?
Sabina Capper if you spilled nail varnish remover on it like you did on my Transfiguration essay so help me I'll never forgive you!
I've Prefect rounds tonight, but if someone finds it, please have one of the girls put it in my dormitory. Thanks!
Happy Birthday, Lavender.
Why are you mad at me?
I left your present
on your bed.
The partner assignments for NEWT-level Defense Against the Dark Arts research projects are out! I think that I shall do my project on the origin of mind-control curses and hopefully whoever my partner is shall be amenable to that topic, because it is one that promises to yield lots of information and subtopics to explore.
All right... let's just see whom Moody has assigned as my partner then.
You've got to be kidding me.
I am so going to end up doing all the bloody work. This is completely unfair. UGH!
What in the world were people THINKING?!
And for that matter, WHO did that trick? For once, I know that it wasn't Seamus, so it must have been someone else, and you'll not be having a place to hide once I find out who you are.
PINK AND ORANGE PAINT! ALL OVER MY UNIFORM! It's NOT funny and it's mean-spirited and this better not be because of the Quidditch game or something. I did notice that only the members of the two houses that were playing this last weekend got targeted.
Bloody hell, and here I thought we'd be done with such infantile displays after the twins left...
